Part of the Music Boosters annual budget covers dry cleaning of uniforms. This year the students will be taking their uniforms in for cleaning themselves and the boosters will reimburse the cost to parents. Please leave your dry cleaning receipt with name of your student and person to be reimbursed in the black box in the band room and you will be reimbursed in approximately one week later.
Don’t forget Ms. Trent will need a copy of your receipt also.
Uniforms are due back October12th, the second day of Mini-Band Camp, so plan accordingly.
The preferred dry cleaner is:
990 East Riggs Road #7
Chandler, AZ 85249
The first competition is less than 2 weeks away! At Desert Vista High School, in Ahwatukee.
The students’ schedule for loading and moving will be available next week, but for planning purposes, Hamilton is currently scheduled to perform at 7:30pm. These things can change, but this ballpark may help if you are planning your Saturday with other family things…
Show info from the DV band website is here. Double-check this schedule to be sure about our performance time.
There are admission charges at these Invitationals (see web link above). The DV band uses this event as a fund-raiser, so please plan to enjoy the concessions and support a great band program.
See the new film, “An Inconvenient Sequel” and raise a little money for the band.
See the flyer here for more information.
I added some instructions to the Calendar page, so you might be able to Subscribe to the band calendar in you own calendar tools.
UPDATE: there is a Music Calendar, in addition to the Marching Band calendar, so I have links and instructions for both on the page now.
On Thursday night, June 27th, the boosters hosted a ‘Band Parent Bootcamp’ to share as much information as possible to the marching band parents. There is a ton of new stuff for new parents, and there are even some new and different things for veteran parents. Below is a link to the Powerpoint show that drove the meeting. If you have Powerpoint, you can download this and run it yourself.
If you have more questions, you can use the links on this site (on the left, or down below on a small screen) to contact various people.
I mentioned the ‘Newbies Guide to Marching Band‘ in my portion.
Here’s a new fundraiser, that is easy, delicious, and a good deal!
You get 40% OFF online orders, and the band gets 10% of the price, ANYTIME.
Just order online, and use coupon code “HuskyMusic”.
And don’t waste the crusts. Always dip the crusts in the garlic butter sauce. Always.
Upon closer consideration, we decided NOT to participate in this event this year.
The band will perform at the Arizona Diamondbacks game on August 26 as part of Dbacks Band Night. Students need a ticket to the game, and families can purchase as many additional tickets as you’d like using our Hamilton order form. The Diamondbacks will donate a portion of each ticket sold to the boosters, so feel free to invite friends to join us.
APPROVED! The Boosters are having a Goodwill Fundraiser on Saturday, August 5th from 8 – 11am.
If you are cleaning out closets and garages, please consider holding on to your stuff for a few weeks to help us maximize the return from this event! (and help out a good cause)
Here’s the flyer: Hamilton Music – Donation Drive Full Flyer
Also, we need some volunteers during that time. If you can help out, sign up here:
Here is a great way to support the band! A local business or even a large corporation can sponsor us. In return for a donation, the business will receive a variety of recognitions and promotional considerations, in different media and venues.
Full details are available in this flyer, which you can download here to read, and print out to distribute: Hamilton-Band-Sponsorship-and-Signup (Adobe PDF).
Some of our band members helped out the football team at their practice on May 4th. They played the fight song for the team, and got the whole crowd hyped up.
